Care Home Proposal
Fosse House, Hykeham Road
Thank you for taking the time to visit this consultation website, which provides information on the emerging proposals by The Orders of St John Care Trust, for the development of a new care home on the site of Fosse House, Hykeham Road, Lincoln.
Welcome and Introduction
Welcome to our consultation website, where you can find out more about our emerging proposals for the creation of a new care home for the elderly, on the site of the former Fosse House on Hykeham Road, Lincoln.
These proposals are being brought forward by The Orders of St John Care Trust (OSJCT) who own the site. OSJCT is a not-for-profit charitable trust, providing high-quality, trusted care, support and housing to residents and tenants across Lincolnshire, Gloucestershire, Oxfordshire, Suffolk, West Sussex and Wiltshire.
Support includes residential, specialised dementia, expert nursing, intermediate care, respite, and day care. They will build-out and operate the new care home, which will set new standards in accommodation for older people living locally.
Harris Irwin are the architects for the proposals, and have designed the scheme. Gillings Planning are the planning consultant and the contact point for this consultation.
This proposal seeks to respond to an identified need within the local area by delivering a new care home on the site of Fosse House (following its demolition), comprising 80 en-suite bedrooms, with associated communal facilities, attractive garden space and car parking.
OSJCT create friendly and comfortable homes where people are treated with dignity, kindness and understanding. Its vision is to allow residents to remain connected with their community, while becoming part of ours. With our proposed new home in Lincoln, we aim to bring these same values to the community – delivering high-quality care, meaningful connection and a true sense of home for residents and their families.
We are keen to share our emerging proposals with the local community and invite you to provide any feedback that you may have, using the online survey. Your comments will help to shape the preparation of a planning application which we plan to submit later in Summer 2026. We look forward to hearing from you.
